Cainta; 1:02 PM Mon (PH); 10:02 PM Sun (US)

Family!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I hope you all had a Merry Christmas:) I had so much fun talking to you all.
Finally, a complete family picture with all 8 of us. :)
It was good because it just felt normal to talk to you and then it felt perfectly normal and fine to say goodbye and then go out to work! Haha It wasn't hard at all. Everything just felt so normal. And I'm grateful for that. Because it means that I'm just at a good place and my heart is happy to be HERE. And I'm so glad that you feel the same way. You know my heart is here right now and you wouldn't have it any other way. You're just the best because you're so supportive of everything and I love it! It makes life so much easier.
  The Sibs :)
Haha but I loved when mom blurted out at the end of our skype, "Okay I'm just gonna say it because I never say it and I can't hold it in anymore! I MISS YOU AND I'M SO EXCITED THAT YOU'RE COMING HOME SO SOON! I'LL SEE YOUR CUTENESS IN 7 WEEKS AND I CAN'T WAIT!!! Okay.... I said it. I'm okay now!" Hahaha it was so funny! Needless to say, the fam is a little bit trunky for Hanns to get home. Am I right?
The Besties :)
And by the way, that was SOOOOO weird to have everyone call me Hannah. I haven't heard that for so long. Hahaha I might go into culture shock all over again when I get home.

But apart from that, WE HAD TWO BAPTISMS LAST SATURDAY!! Nanay Ligaya and Joanna were both baptized on Saturday along with the other sisters' investigator, Nanay Ynopia. It was the best!
 It was a white Christmas!
There was a little bit of a hiccup at the beginning because there were no baptismal clothes. The person who was supposed to wash them....didn't. And all the sizes that we needed were at her house. So we were scrambling around for forever trying to figure things out and at the last minute our ward mission leader found two hidden somewhere in some corner in an office and then we made a little other outfit thing for Nanay Ligaya. But it all turned out okay even though we started an hour late. They were all so precious when they got up to bear their testimonies.
Nanay Ligaya! She made it!
Our miracle, Joanna!
Nanay Ligaya got tears in her eyes as she said that she was grateful that the Lord led her to the true church. That was one of the best moments ever for me. Because we have worked so hard to help her gain a testimony that this really is the true church of Jesus Christ. To actually hear it come out of her mouth was such a blessing and I was SO happy! :) And one of the best parts about Nanay Ligaya is that she was a referral from a less active friend of hers and now that Ligaya is baptized and active in the church, Nanay Honrado is also coming back to church with her daughter. That's the way to do it! Get your investigators to re-activate your less actives! Haha basta, so many miracles and I'm so so grateful.
After church yesterday! We love the members here :)

Sister Sauni and "her boys."
And then a few more of her boys... with Garsha and Liahona.
Well, by the way, I'm dying in Cainta! First of all, it's beyond weird that I'm at the point where I can say that I'm dying... I can't believe this is my last transfer! I still feel like I'm so so new in the mission. But then I look back and I realize how much I've grown and how much of a different and better person I am and I realize that I have indeed come a very long way. It makes my heart ache a little bit that this will be my last transfer. But, I'm SO ready to give everything I have. Yes it's true that I've come a long way but I've still got a long way to go. I refuse to be trunky and I refuse to slack off. If there was ever a time to give my all, it's now. I'm so excited!! I can already feel that Heavenly Father is gonna make the year 2015 the best year ever! I can already see the miracles that are happening right now to help 2015 start off great! I just pray that I can continue to be an effective tool in the hands of the Lord for my last 6 weeks. It's gonna be my best transfer ever!!
These are my little best friends :)
Mark Justin and Mark Lawrence
But I am sooooooooooooo sad that Sister Sauni is transferring. She is seriously one of the BEST people I have ever met in my life. She is such a great missionary and I learned sooooo much from her. She's going to continue to do amazing things and I can't wait to hear about the miracles that are going to happen for her in her new area. I love her with all my heart! Bah I'm just really really gonna miss her.
 Owl miss you Sister Sauni!
My girl, Sauni!
Ryan gave us Doritos. It helps ease the pain of transfers. Haha
But I'm excited for my new companion! I can't remember her name... I don't even know how to pronounce it. But I know it's gonna be a good transfer with her. It's bound to be. Heavenly Father has been so good to me and I know He's not gonna stop now. We're gonna do WORK here! We're gonna baptize all of Cainta!! Haha okay maybe not but we can sure try! ;)
TODAY
{And yes... I'm as tired as I look here. Haha}
Anyway, it's been a great run and I'm ready to sprint for my last stretch. Life is so good and it's about to get better! Thanks for all the love and support! You're literally my top humans! I love you all so much!! Have an amazing week!! LOVE YOUUUUUUUUU!!!

Cainta; 2:30 PM Mon (PH), 11:30 PM Sun (US)

Family! Friends! Others! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
TODAY
So I want to start out with a miracle that happened! Last week, there was a girl at church that I honestly thought was a member. But we found out on Sunday that she was an investigator and she lived in our area. So we set up an appointment with her on Wednesday. Then Wednesday rolls around and as we're teaching her, we come to find out that she has come to church for 6 consecutive weeks and she reads the Book of Mormon every day and knows it's true and knows that this is the true church and she wants to be baptized! So we were like, okay! Will you be baptized on the 27th?? And she said, Yes! I can't tell you how excited Sister Sauni and I were! :) So we're kind of cramming in all the lessons but it's okay because she basically knows everything and is already following everything because her best friend is LDS and in our ward and taught her all this ages ago. So that means that this Saturday we will have two baptisms! Nanay Ligaya and Joanna. It really is a white Christmas here in Cainta and I couldn't be happier!
This is what President texted us after
we told him about our miracle with Joanna.

We had a goal in our mission to get 200 baptisms for the month of December. But when we looked at the scheduled baptisms, we came short. There are only 186 projected baptisms. And it's not like other missions in the world where they can be baptized in 2 weeks or even a week. It's a rule that they HAVE to come to church 4 consecutive times and they have to live the Word of Wisdom for 4 weeks as well to show they are truly committed. Because here, those are the two biggest problems. But then, things like this happen! This is just a testimony to me of the fact that God is on our side and he really does want us to reach our goal that we set for 200 baptisms. He really can do anything and if we all just do what we're supposed to do and work hard and BELIEVE, Heavenly Father will provide. Despite the projections that we have, I truly believe that we can hit 200 baptisms. I don't know how, but I know that Heavenly Father knows how and He will help us. I can't wait to see how this turns out. I'm praying for a miracle! :)
Christmas Conference! Sister Pau, me, Sister Koloi
Me and Sister Rimano! She's going home.  :(
Me and Sister Pau!
We had Christmas Conference last Thursday and it was so fun!  We watched the Polar Express and I was so H A P P Y! Because it really really just felt like Christmas! And I would just like to publicly announce that the bell still rings for me and that I BELIEVE. :)
The bell still rings for me...
Yesterday at church we had 8 investigators there and two of them were brand new! Nanay Ligaya brought one of her little old nanay friends to church with her. Honestly, for that is one of the greatest evidences that someone has gained a testimony of this gospel, is when they have a desire to share it with others and then they actually do it! It's the best. That's how it should be for all of us. If we really knew for ourselves that this is the only true church and that we have the fullness of the gospel, we would have that desire to go tell everyone else about it! Because they don't know, and they won't know until people begin to open their mouths and share. Bah! I didn't understand this before my mission but now I totally get it. I'm just so grateful that I know what I need to do now because it means that I can do this great work for the rest of my life!
Me and Sister Sauni
And lastly, I just want to share my thoughts on Christmas. Christmas is literally the best time of the year. Just like that old song says, "It's the most wonderful time of the year! There'll be parties for hosting, marshmallows for toasting and caroling out in the snow. There'll be scary ghost stories, and tales of the glories of Christmases long, long ago. It's the most wonderful time of the year!" But this year I learned that yes that makes us all happy and it really is all wonderful, but that's not the real reason. It's the happiest and most joyful time of year because it's the time that we celebrate the birth of Christ. It's the most wonderful time of the year because HE is wonderful and only through Him can we find true joy. This time of year isn't just a time to celebrate His birth, but His whole life. Everything He did. It's a time to be grateful for what we have and then turn around and give; because He gave us everything. It's a time to learn of His life and His Atonement. This has been and forever will be my favorite time of year but now for a better and deeper purpose. I'm so grateful for my Savior. He's my closest friend and I owe Him everything I have. I'm so beyond grateful to be a missionary right now. I love this work and I love these people and I love Jesus Christ. This truly is the most wonderful time of the year and the most wonderful time thus far in my mission!:)
Me with the Parental Units here in the mish.
Oh my goodness I get to see you all in three days and I'm so excited!! I just can't wait to hear your voices again! I honestly can't believe though that it's been 7 months since I last skyped. Time is going sooooooooo fast. Basta, I'm super excited and I'll see you all soon!!! Merry Christmas! LOVE YOUUUUUUUUU!!

Monday, December 15, 2014~Week 70
Cainta; 4:01 PM Mon (PH); 1:01 AM Mon (US)

Hey family!!!!!!!!  So this has been a pretty good week I'd say!!
TODAY

I never get tired of waking up to this.
I curled Sister Garcia's hair for the
first time in her life. #supmodel
First of all, Sister Sauni and I had an interesting experience on Wednesday. Wednesday was our finding day and in our finding, we found an Italian! His name is Mario and he doesn't speak a lick of Tagalog. He only knows how to say, "Kaunti lang" when people ask him if he can speak Tagalog. And as for English, yeah he doesn't speak that either. He can kind of understand what we're saying but he can't respond. He would respond to me in Italian and I would be like..... "Ummmm I have no idea what to say to you..." But somehow, by some miracle, we were able to communicate to him that we were missionaries for Jesus Christ and then he was like "Wife! Come!" And then he beckoned us to follow him and so we followed him to his little home where his wife and his little 8 month old baby were. Now his wife was Filipina and so I was able to speak to her in Tagalog and that was the biggest relief of my life. And then we asked her if we could share to them and they agreed. So this is basically how the lesson went the whole time: "Tayo ay mga anak ng Diyos -- We are all children of God -- At na mahal na mahal Niya tayo -- And he loves us all so much. -- At dahil mahal na mahal Niya tayo, ibinigay Niya sa atin isang napakagandang plano -- And because He loves us so much, He gave us a beautiful plan." And that's what it was like the whole lesson. Every single sentence going back and forth between Tagalog and English and speaking as if we were talking to little children. But here's the thing, even though he didn't really know and understand all the words we were saying to him, I know that he could understand us. Because the spirit was there. And the spirit was taking everything that we were saying and translating it into the language of the heart. And he felt it. I could see it in his face. And we asked if we could come back and they both said yes! It was crazy! They're going to be moving to Italy soon so we're going to get their information and give it to the missionaries there. Wouldn't it be so cool if he accepted the gospel after the missionaries there teach him and he gets baptized?? And to think that it actually would have started in the Philippines. God works in mysterious ways. Soooo we'll have to see how that goes!!
Other big news! Ariel was baptized! Finally!!
He made it!
Ariel finally made it to the waters of baptism!
I can't tell you how hard we worked for this guy to be baptized. And how hard he has worked too. He's had to make a lot of changes but I'm so grateful that I was blessed to witness it because he really has changed. His countenance is so different from when I first started teaching him. He was so excited to be baptized. He was SO late to his baptism though. SO late. But it's okay. At least he was baptized right?? He said that as he was going into the water he asked himself the question, "What brought me here? Why am I here?" and as he came up he thought to himself, "Because this is true. And because of Jesus Christ."
He said he felt like a Kung Fu master. Oh Ariel.
It was the best! I know that Satan was working so hard on him and Satan will continue to work on him because I know that Ariel will be an amazing instrument in God's hands as he continues to live the gospel and do what he knows is right. He's going to help so many people. I feel so blessed to have been part of helping him become converted to the Lord. He has quite the story but it turned out to be a happy ending anyway so all is well!! It was just a good day!! :)
We worked reallyyyyyyyyyyy hard to get this kid here.
And then! Sunday!! Sunday was the best!! Because we had TEN investigators at church and TWELVE less actives! It was a miracle! I was praying and fasting so hard that people would come and they came! Five of those investigators at church were brand new investigators that we've never taught before that members invited! It was amazing! Four of those new investigators all have families that we can teach and baptize! I'm telling you, it was a straight up miracle! And then the less actives! Four of those less actives came for the first time since I've been here in this area. One of them is 18 years old and we talked to him on Sunday night after Ariel's baptism because he was there playing basketball and invited him to come back and then he came! We're gonna help him go on a mission because I could see in his countenance how great he would be! Another one is soooooooooooooooooo old and can barely walk and we've visited her a few times and then she just showed up! That cute little old woman and her walker took like three trikes to get to the chapel. I love her! My heart was just so full on Sunday. I can't even explain it. Heavenly Father is truly so merciful and kind and lets us know, in the most remarkable ways, that He IS there and He DOES hear our prayers and He will take care of everything for us. I felt so humbled and blessed on Sunday. It was truly a Christmas miracle. :)
This is the puffed up version of Dora.
Hahaha Olan!! I love her!!!
Look at this beautiful woman!
That's Dave. He's hard to describe. Just call him "kulit."
Olan was putting cute little flowers in our hair.
Ryan Marantal. He's a frog.
The Christmas devotional was b e a u t i f u l. I loved all the talks but I especially loved the one from Elder D. Todd Christofferson. I loved the story that he told. It made me cry because I just think about all the good people in the world that just do such good things. And it's all because of the light of Christ that they have within them. That's another Christmas miracle right there. And I was SO touched by the music. I shed a few tears when the choir sang, "O Come, All Ye Faithful." Good heavens it was so powerful! Like, there wasn't enough room in my body to hold all the feelings inside my Spirit! I am so grateful for music. Especially Christmas music. It really does bring the Spirit into our lives.
This is my friend Chuck!
That's actually not his name but that's what I call him.

His name is Kenneth. He's from the other ward but he's the BEST!
He's 16 years old and he wants to be baptized but his parents won't let him.
So he's waiting until he turns 18. But he's literally just the best ever!
He's there every Sunday and he's at every activity and he just
fits right in and he always says, "Just two more years.
Then I can go on a mission." This kid is my hero!!
Advent from mom. Each day has a scripture
about Gifts we receive because of Jesus Christ.
#HeIsTheGift #ShareTheGift
Well, I'll just say that after our zone training today, I can really feel that the Lord is hastening His work. There is no doubt about it. This mission is really stepping up this next year and I'm excited for it. I'm bummed that I'll be here for the beginning of it all but I'll for sure keep myself posted. I know that this next year is going to be a year of pure miracles. And just to give you an idea of how the Lord is hastening His work and getting His missionaries more focused, effective February 1, 2014, emailing time is only ONE hour instead of two AND you are no longer allowed to chat back and forth with your mom or anyone else in the family. Haha Heavenly Father knew that's a little difficult for me and mom so that's why he told President Revillo to wait until February 1, 2014! Because that means I only have one p-day where that rule applies to me. Phew! Close call!! Any way, I love you all and can't wait to see you NEXT WEEK!!!! Merry Christmas! LOVE YOUUUUUUUU!!

Tuesday, December 9, 2014~Week 69
Cainta; 2:53 PM Tues (PH); 11:53 PM Mon (US)

Hellooooooooooooo!!! First off, I'm alive! Haha we barely felt anything of the storm here in Cainta so that's a miracle because that means there wasn't really any flooding! I hope everyone else that was affected by the storm though is doing okay. More prayers, as always! :)
TODAY
{I forgot to take one at home so
I took one this morning at the chapel! haha}
Well, it's been quite a week! First off, Zone Interviews were A M A Z I N G! I received SOOOO much revelation for so many things. The Spirit was just teaching me left and right and answering questions and testifying to me and everything was just wonderful! I absolutely loved this time because we focused on Joseph Smith. The Restoration is my very favorite thing to teach to anyone. My whole life I've believed in the Prophet Joseph Smith. My whole life I've revered him and honored him. I've always had a special love for Joseph Smith. I was specifically told in my setting apart blessing that I have a gift when it comes to a testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith. So anytime Joseph Smith is talked about or taught about, it's like my spirit wakes up a little more and listens so intently. We got to watch Elder Andersen's talk again and that was amazing for me because during that session of General Conference, we had it in Tagalog. So that was a tender mercy for me. And then we all got to go around and share something new that we learned from his talk. One thing that I learned is that there are so many ways to gain a testimony of him and the work that he did. I had never thought before about the fact that when I stand in the Celestial Room of the temple, it's because Joseph Smith restored those sacred keys back to the earth. I LOVE that! So many more things just came to my mind of why I'm grateful for him and all that he did to restore the truth back to the earth.
Garsha and Zollinger
And just a little experience to add to this, on Saturday we went on exchanges with Sister Garcia and Sister Zollinger. During our companionship study, we all shared what we learned from our personal study and it just so happened that every single one of us studied about Joseph Smith and gaining a testimony of him. It was THE most powerful and spiritual companionship study I've had my ENTIRE mission. It was so amazing to sit there in that little space and feel the spirit testify to each one of us through each other's testimonies that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God. It was an incredible experience.
The package! It came!
It came on December 3rd! I knew you'd be so happy to hear that. :)
#christmascountdown
Sister Garsha said, "CHOCOLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE!!!!!
Yummmmmm!!! Hehehehehehehehehehehe"

{hugs and kisses}
Look at my beautiful companion
and her beautiful hair!!

#craycray

But anyway, I loved the workshop from the APs. It was all about shortening and simplifying the way we teach, especially the message of the Restoration. It answered EVERY question I had about how we can improve the area that we have right now. I was so so grateful. And then on Thursday, after the interviews, we were able to apply what we learned in the first lesson that we taught and it was a miracle! So remember Nanay Ligaya? She was the one we taught and told us that she might not be interested in our church because of tithing. Well! We went and re-taught her the Restoration and applied everything the APs taught us and BOOM! A light switched on inside her and she accepted baptism for December 27 and promised to come to church again on Sunday no matter what happened! And here's the best part! SHE DID!! She came! Haha she was an hour early.... which was kind of funny. But she came! And then the lesson that day was about tithing and fast offerings and it was so great! And our recent convert, Emma, has like THE strongest testimony about tithing ever! She's had one for years. And so Emma went over to Ligaya after church and explained to her the beauty of tithing and helped her understand it and they became cute little old lady friends at church! It was the BEST! I could not have been happier! :)
#McDo
This is Sister Sauni laughing because
everyone in McDo was staring at her.
#cuties
#trikerides
#trikerideswithmembers
Also, another little thing that I want to share is an experience that we had on Thursday. So we went to teach Emma and William and start reviewing all the lessons again with them. So of course, we started with the Restoration. And because the ward is supposed to take part in these lessons, we had a ward missionary meet us there and he taught the lesson. And as he was teaching, I was just thinking. So this ward missionary has been home from his mission for a while now, but he can still teach the lessons like a full-time missionary. He teaches very simply and clearly and still remembers every principle of the lesson. And I was just thinking about everything that we had talked about in Zone Interviews and about everything that had been talked about in General Conference about Joseph Smith and about testimony and it just hit me right then and there how much I ALWAYS need to be strengthening my testimony. I know that I have one, but I need to constantly strengthen it and help it to continue to grow and then SHARE it. Because if I don't share it, all the teaching skills and knowledge that I've gained here on my mission will just go to waste. I never want to lose what I've gained here. Ever. I'm grateful for the example of this ward missionary and countless other members that I've met and worked with. That's one amazing thing about the Filipino members. They are literally always sharing the gospel and they LOVE to work with the missionaries. I want to be just like them for the rest of my life! I know that this is one reason that my Father in Heaven sent me here to the Philippines. Because He wanted me to learn not only how to be a missionary right now, but forever. And these beautiful people are the best example of that. I LOVE THE PHILIPPINES!! :)
Ariel!!!
What a beaut.
I just want to say that I know with every fiber in my being that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true and living church here on the earth today and that Jesus Christ is at the head of this church. I know that the fullness of the everlasting gospel was restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. It doesn't matter what the world says and thinks of him because we know him to be chosen of God. And that's the ONLY thing that matters. I know, with every fiber in my being that Jesus IS the Christ. He is the reason for the season. He IS the Gift. Our loving Father in Heaven gave His Beloved Son to US. How lucky are we?? We just need to receive this incomprehensible Gift and then share it! "Joy to the world! Let earth receive her King!" I hope you're all enjoying the Christmas season!! Treasure it while it lasts! It seems to go so fast! I can't wait to see all your wonderful faces in 16 days!! Have a great week!! Merry Christmas!! LOVE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!
