HAPPY NEW YEAR FAMILY!!! The year 2013 is coming to an end and it makes me a little bit sad because it's been SUCH a great year! So many big things happened and I've loved everything about it! But I'm excited for the upcoming year! I hope you all realize that I will not be in America for the entire year of 2014. THE ENTIRE YEAR. I WILL NOT STEP FOOT ON AMERICAN SOIL FOR A WHOLE YEAR. I don't know why but that's really weird for me to think about. It's just like that whole year is going to be gone. Weirdddd.
Our lunch with the Augustines!
With their two kids. Lester, the son, served with Steve Anderson.

The Elders playing ninja at the mission home! Sooooo funny!
Anyway, thanks everyone for the skype! It was so so fun!! I loved seeing everyone! The most comforting part of that for me was that everyone is still basically the same. The house is still the same, everyone pretty much looks the same, everyone acts the same, nothings really changed! And that's just comforting to know. And it's comforting to think about the fact that after we ended the skype call, you all went back to your normal lives and are carrying on and so I know that I can do the same! I am just so grateful that I could see everyone and just talk to everyone like we were all sitting there together! I loved it! I can't wait to do it all again in just a few months! And my Tagalog will be so much better by then so you'll get to hear me speak more kung gusto mo.
Hey Everyone!
The rest of the week was just the regular old missionary life! We went on exchanges with the Sister Trainer Leaders and that was a good learning experience for me! The new Sister Trainer Leader for our area is Sister Wilson! Sister Sim's trainer here in the field! I worked with the other sister, Sister Solivan though but it was still really good! The calling of Sister Trainer Leaders was very inspired. I think that it's really helpful for all the sisters!
The view from the roof of the Dulalia's house!
The youth in our ward are models. :)
(R) S. Hepworth was too scared to come out onto the roof! Kawawa. ha
(L) This is my shadow but I'm pretty sure that this is how tall everyone thinks I am here!  :)
Merry Christmas from the Philippines!
Yesterday was amazing though!! The bishop rented a jeepney for all of the members in Kaingin so that they could all attend the sacrament meeting at the actual chapel and MY WHOLE MOUNTAIN CAME!! I've never seen so many people in the chapel! It was great! And President Revillo was there giving a workshop for the combined Sunday School classes so that was really great too!! It was just a miracle to have so many people there from the mountain! Heavenly Father is really helping us to make that mountain stronger and we're so excited about it!
I don't know....just for fun....and my skirt is pulled up real high
....sometimes we get really bored during Weekly Planning.....  :)
This morning we got to go to the church in p-day clothes and play some games with the ward members! It was really chill and fun. Haha HannsBoNanns moment. I was playing badminton and I slid on a slippery part of the cement and basically skinned the top of my toe really bad and there was some blood of course but it's okay! I put a nice big green band aid on it and it'll heal sometime!
TODAY!
Sorry that this letter is so short! I don't know where my time went today! But I just want you all to know that I love and miss you so much and am so so grateful for all of you! You are all my greatest friends and such a blessing to me! Thank you for the constant support and prayers! I feel so blessed to have such a loving supportive family! I hope you all have a very happy new year!! I bought some sparkling cider for us to have and I'm excited to drink it! WE have to be in by 6:00 pm again on New Year's Eve because there's so many fireworks and they're all pretty dangerous! So we'll have a nice little party type thing in our house! Thanks for everything! I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Love, Sister Andersen

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!! MALIGAYANG PASKO! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY HERO JOSEPH SMITH!!!!
The Prophet Joseph Smith, Jr.
born December 23, 1805
Anway, I'm so so SO excited to skype with you in just a few days! It's gonna be a party and a half. Here's the thing though....don't expect me to speak Tagalog because hahahahahaha I don't even know what Tagalog is! Lawls. Anywhooooo, supes excited for that! It'll be great!
TODAY
Sister Tibungcog TODAY.

Soo this week was not all that eventful! Haha we had zone training on Thursday and that went really well. We have a new schedule here that's really weird and kind of hard to get used to but it's good! Hopefully it will be effective! Usually we have personal study at 8, companionship study at 9, Language study at 10, lunch at 11, and then go work at 12. Now we have personal study at 8, companionship study at 9, go out and work at 10, come back at 12 for lunch, language study at 1, and then go back out and work until it's time to come home at 9! It's crazy and I think it might make the days longer but it's okay! It'll be fun! Anyway, zone training was really great! They just talked about how change always happens and we need to have good attitudes about it and then the Sister Trainer Leaders talked about being obedient and the spirit was really there and it was great!
My Moon :)

Honestly though, that's all that happened this week that's worth talking about! Haha we do have a ton of investigators with baptismal dates in January though! We have Gio and Robin Fuertes, Jake and Erika Letada, Lalang Resal, Jhunray, Jordan, and Angela Lopez! So pray for those people please!!
These are the most kawawa children I have ever met. We went caroling to them and took them some chocolate and clothes from the ward mission leader. We love them. Their Sister Hepworth's "children." She doesn't know how she's going to leave the Philippines without them.
Tomorrow we have a lunch appointment at Elder Agustine's house! He's a member of the Seventy! Bwaaaaa. But it'll be fun! And after that, we get to go to the mission home for a little food and Christmas fun with Presidnet and Sister Revillo and the APs and the other office Elders and I'm so EXCITED! Perks of having the niece of the President as your companion:) It'll be fun! And then everyone has to be in their appartments by 6 Sister Tibungcog and Sister Monticalbo are making chop suey or something and Sister Hepworth and I are making nachos and sparkling cider.....haha we're American and we're proud of it. Anyway, I'm excited for Christmas! It's nothing like Christmas at home but it's still filled with Christ and loved ones and food! I'm grateful that I can stand as a representative of Jesus Christ share His gospel with the people here on the day that the whole world celebrates His glorious birth! What a blessing! I love and miss you all and am SO excited to see all your beautiful faces soon!! Have a very very Merry Christmas Eve and Christmas everyone!! LOVE YOU!!!!

Monday, December 17, 2013~Week 18
Quezon City; 10:58 AM Tues (PH); 7:58 PM Mon (US)

Hey family! It's been a crazy crazy week! First of all though, I'm staying here!! I'm so so happy! I was not ready to leave this area yet! My work is not finished here! I kept telling President that if I could just stay here for one more transfer, I would be fine! And my wish came true! There's still too much for me to do here so I'm really really excited to be staying! And so is Sister Tibungcog! We're going to work so dang hard this transfer and we're just really really excited! Sister Hepworth is staying too. She's training! We're going to have a baby in the house! I won't be the youngster anymore! Hollerrrrrrrrr. Sister Strebel is leaving though....we're all a little depressed about that. There's no one in the house that can quote the Grinch and other movies with me now!! It's a sad life. But we all knew she was leaving so it wasn't a big surprise. She's been in the same area for 6 months AND it was her first area. So it was time for her to go. Good news though! She's going to Pasig and she's going to be in the same house as Sister Jones! Haha so at least she'll have that for Christmas! Anywayyyyyyyyyyy....on to my week!
Sisters Andersen, Tibungcog, Hepworth & Strebel
So Thursday we had Christmas Conference and it was SO fun!! WE WATCHED AN ACTUAL REAL LIFE NOT CHURCH CHRISTMAS MOVIE!!! It was Arthur's Christmas and it was soooo cute! I definitely recommend it! It was precious! I loved it! I was just so happy though that we watched an actual movie! We also played games, had lunch, did skits, sang songs, did a gift exchange, and just mingled with other missionaries and it was just really really fun! I wish I could send the video of the skit that President was in! Oh my gosh it was so funny! Parts of it probably won't be as funny to you because there's a few jokes about the Philippines there but oh my gosh it was so so funny!   I'll send pictures later! And we all got cute little Christmas Conference shirts and so everyone just looks so dandy and Christmas like! It was funnnnnnnnn.
Me and my taytay Elder Cendana and my zone leader right now.
My lolo in the mission!
(Grandpa) Elder Roman was my first Zone Leader!
 He goes home tomorrow!
Elder Cendana and us!
Me and Elder Crisanto! My favorite office Elder!
Then on Friday we had weekly planning all day basically but it was Jake Letada's (one of our investigators that lives in Daan-Tubo) birthday and so we took them doughnuts and wrapped up a hymn book for them and just went and wished him a happy birthday. They're the sweetest little family. They're the ones with the two month old baby and the one year old baby. Sooo adorable. This family is our new focus right now. Jake just got a job which is GREAT because they have nothing and Erika just stays at home all day with the baby but when she's at home, she'll read the Book of Mormon and stuff and she is SO excited for her baptism. We went and visited her yesterday and she was telling us how excited she was because when she was baptized as a baby it was just the sprinkling on the head thing and she said she's excited for this baptism because she'll go all the way under and it's like she's being washed clean and we were like, YES! That's exactly it! They're scheduled to be baptized on January 18th! So everyone pray! We're also shooting to get them married on that day! Sooo pray again for that! It's just my dream to get them married and baptized before February 11 because that would mean that I could go to their sealing in the temple right before I go home! And that would be the BEST way to end my mission!  So it definitely needs to happen!
Us and Ivanne, one of the ward missionaries!
Saturday was the longest, most exhausting day EVER! Sister Tibungcog and I went with one of the ward missionaries to Kaingin at 11:30 in the morning and we were there until 5:30 pm! We walked all over that dang mountain visiting ALL the less actives and inviting them to the little Christmas Devotional that we were having up there for them and also inviting them to come to the sacrament meeting on Sunday. We seriously went up and down those hills several times over and it just happened to be the HOTTEST day that we've had here in a while and SOOOO humid!
The view from the very TOP of Kaingin!
Then the little devotional started at 5 pm, then Sister Tibungcog and I left for our house so that we could kind of clean up for the BAPTISM! We were starving though because neither of us had had breakfast, lunch, or dinner! That's actually probably kind of dangerous but hey, duty calls. So we hurried and fixed ourselves up, wrapped up a nice little present for Mylene, and ran to the church for the baptism! Little Mylene is sooooo adorable! The other sisters had their investigator Charlie there too who was getting baptized. He went first and then Mylene and she's just a precious little child! After their baptism, they were both asked to share their testimony and Charlie gave a sweet little testimony and then Mylene got up really really quietly and said (in Tagalog) "I'm happy that I could be baptized and I'm happy that I'm a real young woman now. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen." SO ADORABLE! Anyway, we all took some pictures afterwards and then we finally got home at about 8:45 where we immediately ordered in some McDonald's! McDonald's in America is disgusting but here, it's real food and it tastes so good!!!! So that was a very nice ending to a very long but rewarding day!

Us and the young women in the ward with Mylene!
Saturday night........ it was a looooong day.

Thumbs up for a baptism from me....
One from Sister Tibungcog...

Sunday was nice! We went to the sacrament meeting in Kaingin, came home, I showered again, we went to church, had a meeting with the ward mission leader and the ward missionaries, and then watched the Christmas Devotional!! It was so good!! I loved it! I loved how sweet and simple it was! Our leaders are all so adorable and so gentle! I love them!  Ummm yesterday was a very long day! Haha we got punted EVERYWHERE! We went to so many people and got punted everytime! Except for Erika Letada, the Fuertes, and Jenie. But the lesson with Jenie was awful.  Someone kept coming and interrupting and the spirit was just nonexistent there. It was real rough. And to top it all off, at about 8:00 pm I got really really tired and achy everywhere and a fever hit me really hard suddenly. So we went home and I layed down and it was the weirdest feeling in the world because I was burning up really really bad but I was actually a little bit chilly even though I knew it was bloody hot. So I knew that I was for real sick. My fever broke during the night so it didn't last very long but my whole body still aches and my throat feels like death. Sister Strebel had it last week so I just picked up what she had. It's no fun. But it's okay! At least the fever's gone!
TODAY!
Anyway, I just feel really blessed this week because I get to stay here one more transfer and I get to work with my people here for just a little bit longer! It's going to be a great transfer and we're really looking forward to it! It's so fun to see all the usual Christmas happenings around home plus the added magical snow this year! Christmas is definitely different here but the message about Christ and His life is still the same no matter where you are! I'm so grateful to be a missionary and for this opportunity that I have to share the gospel of Jesus Christ here in the Philippines! I'm sad that I'm missing Christmas but I know that it's worth it and that my time here is limited and so I have to treasure what I've got!! I love you all so much and I can't wait to skype with you NEXT WEEK!! I'm excited to see everyone's face and hear all your voices again!! Love you all so much!! Talk to you soon!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS! MAHAL NA MAHAL KITA!

Hello my beautiful family and friends! First of all, HOW IN THE WORLD DID ST. GEORGE GET SO MUCH SNOW?! I AM SO JEALOUS!! OF COURSE THAT WOULD HAPPEN WHEN I'M NOT THERE!!! Janessa sent me a picture and it looked so gorgeous!!! It looked like one of those cute little old towns from It's a Wonderful Life or something! Totes jelly. Soak it up for me. I miss that stuff. I don't even know if there's a word for snow in Tagalog.... Hold on let me ask my companion. OH MY GOSH SHE SAYS THERE'S NOT. That is so sad. I just realized that probably almost ALL of the Filipino population has not ever seen snow. I might start crying for them. Oh my gosh. I won't see snow for 2 more years probably. I might start crying for me.......

Anyway! It has been a pretty fun week but I can't remember why! Haha Last week after I emailed we went to the church and had our zone activity and it was really fun. We all just played games and life was good! We got to wear jeans! That's always a special treat! Tuesday I threw up some pansit that I had. That was gross..... Wednesday we had MTC Exchanges again and for the first time ever, I had to be a big girl and be split up with my companion and take a little MTC missionary out with just me! Bah! It's okay though. It actually went really great. I actually did better in the lessons and better at Tagalog than I ever have before because I HAD to. I was the older one and she didn't know anything and so I had to step up and lead the lessons and everything! I took her to the Letada family and we taught about the Holy Ghost and Enduring to the End and it was so good! Haha it was super cute because the MTC missionaries are supposed to lead the lessons and so I had her start it and she was super nervous and timid and spoke such broken Tagalog and I just kept wondering, "Was this how I was when I first got here?" So she'd kind of start the lesson and after she'd said everything she could think of to say, I would go back and fill in the holes and go deeper. It was a really good learning experience for me because it made me realize how much I've grown and it helped me to see how to teach the lessons a little bit clearer. If that makes sense... Haha after that, I took her over to Pansol and we went and tried to find this investigator that Sister Jones found that Sister Tibungcog and I have been looking for for weeks! And I found her!! FINALLY!! Anyway, that was great too because we just taught her the Restoration and obviously I love that lesson and I loved teaching it. It was a different experience for me this time because it was the first time that I'd ever been the older missionary! I keep saying that but it was kind of fun! I liked it! The rest of the week was just the normal missionary life. Ya know, wake up, eat breakfast, shower, study, study, study, eat lunch, teach lessons, get punted, go finding, trip over this and that, fall through sewers, teach another lesson, come home at 9, eat dinner, plan, go to bed. Repeat! It sounds kind of tedious but it's actually not. Every day is different and every day we laugh about new things and so life is great!

Oh big news that I keep forgetting to put in my emails home.... We have a baptism on Saturday!! Wooooo!!! Her name is Mylene and she's 12 years old and ADORABLE! It's kind of funny because she's come to church every single week since I've been here and everyone thought she was a member but she was never baptized! Haha so we taught her the lessons, she had her interview on Monday, she passed, and tada! She'll be baptized on Saturday! Along with an investigator of Sister Hepworth and Strebel! Super duper exciting!

So best news of the whole week, I GOT MY PACKAGE ON MONDAY!!!! Can I just say, I LOVE being so close to the office and having the office elders as friends! It's the best thing in the world! So we walked into the office on Monday night after Mylene's interview and we were talking to the Elders and then Elder Crisanto said, "Hey look in that room..." And so I peeked into a room and there was just a giant pile of packages for all the missionaries! And I looked at him and said, "Is mine in that pile??" And he said, "I think so...." And then he started to walk away but he looked back and he gave me a little mischievous look and I just gave him the puppy dog face. Haha because all the mail and all the packages are supposed to be given out at Christmas Conference this week and so he said, "When's your Christmas Conference?" (Because there's 2 different ones. One on Tuesday and one on Thursday.) And I looked all puppy dog like at him and said, "Thursday....." and he gave me the look like, "Well looks like you're gonna have to wait until then......." Then he just started laughing and he helped me go through the pile of packages until we found mine at the bottom of the pile and he pulled it out for me and sent me on my way and I was a very happy child! Haha THANK YOU SO MUCH MOTHER!!! EVERYTHING IS PERFECT AND I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER!! Obvi all the Christmas presents are underneath my little tree on my desk and it's adorable and I forgot to take a picture of it but I'll send one next week! Everything was so adorable! I'm so happy that you sent me apple cider! That is Christmas in a cup for me and they don't have it here! So thank you thank you thank you!

We went to the temple this morning and I had a better experience this time than I did last time. Last time was great but I was longing to be home in the St. George temple with family and friends and so I got really homesick. But this time, I just enjoyed it! The temple is so small and so so simple but I like it. It fits in with the people here. They don't need much and they're so happy with whatever they have! I've learned so much from all of them! I feel so blessed to be serving where I'm serving! I can't believe that on Saturday I will have been out for 4 months! Where did the time go?? It's going by so fast! I'm so so grateful to my Heavenly Father because even though Christmas is fast approaching, I haven't really been homesick. I think it would be harder for me if I was in the states or somewhere that kind of did the same things that we would do at home. But here, it's still HOT, and dry, and we're always busy. So I know that I've been really blessed in that way. I'm so so excited to talk to you all in just a couple weeks! It'll be so fun to see all of you and hear all of your voices again! I'll let you know next week what time and everything we'll be doing it! I'm praying with all my heart that I'll be here in this area for one more transfer. But I know it's all up to the Lord. So pray for me that whatever happens, I'll be happy and strong and not homesick! Haha thank you all so so much for everything you do for me! I am so grateful to have such a loving, supportive family! It's the biggest blessing in my life! Thanks again! I miss you all!! Merry Christmas!! LOVE YOUUU!!!!!

Love, Sister Andersen

PS: Hannah's housemate Sister Strebel shared this Hannsbonanns moment in her letter:
"You know how i have some worst nightmares like falling into a sewer? Well sister Andersen was really mean to me last night and i freaked out. I took a shower and blow dried my hair and straightened it and i was just looking in the mirror and cooling off in front of the fan when sis. andersen comes around to me and she gathers my hair bc she likes to braid it and stuff. And im watching her in the mirror and all the sudden she gets a spooky look on her face and holds my hair in one hand and a huge butchers knife in the other and i scream and yank away and she just laughs and laughs! She's evil! I was gonna kill her! She knows thats a nightmare of mine, to get my hair chopped off randomly.... oh i was gonna kill her!"
Sisters Andersen & Strebel

 Still braiding my life away.
 I braid EVERYONE'S hair.
Nothing's changed!

Quezon City; 12:58 PM Mon (PH); 9:58 PM Sun (US)

Magandang umago! Or I guess it's magandang gabi para so inyo lahat....
Well, I hope that Thanksgiving was to your liking this year! I'll tell you more about my Thanksgiving later on when I give you the weekly run down.
TODAY
So basically we are being over abundantly blessed here in our area! It's stressing us out because we are so dang blessed! We literally have a problem. WE HAVE TOO MANY PEOPLE TO TEACH. I know. It's a hard knock life for us. But seriously! We can't handle everything. We're supposed to focus 50% of our efforts on investigators and 50% on less actives and we're also supposed to find new people to teach all the time! Which is great! It's just that, we have so many investigators that we have to go to and so many less actives to go to that we don't have any time to go finding! And even if we did have any time to go finding, we wouldn't have any place to schedule them in because we're booked! Our area is really spread out and really big so it's not like we have actual appointments with people. We just go to certain areas on certain days of the week and they know that we'll be coming that day sometime. And for most of our area we have to be out of it by 7:30 or 8:00 because it gets dangerous for us. There are a ton of drunk men and thieves. So it's a little bit rough! SO. We've really really thought about what we could do to help and we've come to the conclusion that we just need to ask President to put Elders up in Kaingin. We really feel like putting Elders up there would help that area progress so much! It would be so helpful to have the priesthood up there while the new sacrament meeting was getting started and once that's been established pretty strong, you could do SO much finding! Seriously, Kaingin is HUGE! Plus, the Elders could stay up there longer because they're not girls! Especially if they're Polynesian Elders! They'd scare all the drunk men away! So hopefully we can get this through to President! It would help the less actives and the investigators and it would help us so much! We could double the work here if we had Elders in just Kaingin!
 My beautiful leg now!

Up close and personal!
Anyway, so Tuesday was a very very busy day and it was a day of miracles! We taught 5 lessons even after we had district meeting which never happens! It was great! We taught this 58 year old woman named Merci about the Book of Mormon and she's been reading it! Which was wonderful! She's so so adorable! We LOVE her!! And then we went and taught Robin about the Sabbath Day and Nanay Merley (their grandma) was there and we were hoping that she would just listen but she wasn't really. And then we went to the Letada family! I don't remember if I told you about them. Their names are Jake and Erika and they have a 2 month old baby and a 1 year old son! They are adorable! Anyway, we went there and we looked inside the house and neither Jake nor Erika were inside but there was someone else who was there just kind of lounging around and he was reading a book. And as I looked closer, IT WAS THE BOOK OF MORMON!  So we said "Tao po!" and he got all startled and kind of looked from us to the book and then back at us like he was guilty of some great crime! Hahaha it was great! Anyway, we ended up teaching him the first lesson and hopefully we get to go back. He's Jake's little brother. AND! A miracle for their family! Jake got a job! They needed it so bad! So yay for that! Then we went and taught Jenie, our recent convert! And she super duper bonded with Sister Tibungocog which was great because she hasn't been coming to church since Sister Jones left. Pray for her! So that was all in Daan-Tubo! And we were about to go home and I just had this thought that we should go to Pansol and just pop in to see if one of our investigators, Lalang, was home and set an appointment with her for the next day. We literally had not taught her since my first day in the field here. That was September 26. She was just never home or she was busy. So we headed over there and we popped our heads in, "Tao po!" and guess what?! She invited us in and we taught a lesson and the spirit was so strong and it was a miracle!! And she told us to come back the next day too!! IT WAS SERIOUSLY A MIRACLE!!

On Wednesday we had Zone Conference and that was just great! One of my favorite things was a workshop given by the zone leaders from an area in Tandog Sora. One of the Elders was from Canada and he had an English accent and he was radiating with love and gentleness and peace! He had such a kind, soft, loving voice and I got chills when he bore his testimony! It was so tender and so powerful! Their workshop was about finding and my favorite thing that he said was, "The Holy Ghost is the ultimate referrer. He knows who is ready because he knows everyone's hearts." I've heard that a lot my whole life but never quite like that and never in such a tender voice and never in an English accent and never with that much Spirit radiating from the person saying it! CHILLS. Our APs did a great workshop about referrals! They did an acronym thing for us little missionaries!

Rekindle the spirit of missionary work (RMs)
Empathy
Family and Friends
Earn the trust and respect of the members
Report back to the referrer
Regularly ask yourself, "I am a blessing or a burden?"
Ask!
Look for opportunities
SUCCESS

'Twas great. After Zone Conference we went to Lalang's house and that was an AMAZING lesson! We showed the Restoration video and then talked about the Book of Mormon and the spirit was crazy strong! And then we had her give the closing prayer and she just started bawling because she was saying that she knows that she's been growing farther and farther from Him and she's just so grateful that the sister missionaries came to her to help her come back to Him! It was amazing! Our purpose is literally to help others come closer to Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end! It states it right in our call letters! It's so amazing to see it actually happening in people's lives though! Anyway, she has a baptismal date now. No big deal. Just kidding HUGE DEAL. WE'RE SAVING SOULS.

Thursday was obviously Thanksgiving and I was surprised by how not homesick I was. I've been preparing myself to feel homesick since day one here! I just figured that it would come! But I really wasn't! Heavenly Father wasn't gonna let me feel that way and I was so grateful!! We had dinner at a member's house on Thanksgiving and it was really delicious! It wasn't the standard mashed potatoes and turkey but it was still great because we were surrounded by loved ones! Which is what Thanksgiving is all about anyway right?? Sister Dulalia even bought us some ice cream! Rocky Road! Mmmmmmm! Good stuff! Happy Thanksgiving to me!

Friday was another great day because we taught the Fuertes! And it's always great to teach them! haha they're my little angels! We taught them the Law of Chastity! And it went great! And we taught Jake and Erika Letada and I love their family so so much!! OH! And earlier that day, we got a new investigator! And we went and taught in the nicest house I have ever set foot in my entire time here in the Philippines! It was a beautiful town house! They're members of the church and it was seriously like a dream! The new investigator's name is Jem and he's a friend of the member whose house we taught at! We're going back to them every Friday and we could not be happier because they also fed us DELICIOUS food! And as it turns out, he just happens to know Steve Anderson! haha they served together in the office! Such a small world!! What are the odds of that?! Yeah so that was pretty amazing. Highlight of my mission. (Just kidding.....sort of....)
Sister Tibungcog TODAY
hahahaha it was a kandid shot
Saturday night we went to the Fuertes just to remind them about church and make sure every thing was alright with Nanay Merley. We ended up teaching a Word of Wisdom lesson and getting 3 new investigators! Haha one of them being Nanay!! Sister Tibungcog has really gotten her to warm up to us! It's amazing! The change that has taken place since we first met her is incredible! And then yesterday we went and taught a less active member who was baptized when he was 17. He's only 19 now and he used to want to serve a mission SO bad! But then his mom told him he couldn't go to church anymore. But yesterday, we went and talked to him about missionary work and he got a little teary eyed talking about when he would bear his testimony when he would work with the missionaries! He's coming to church next week! We're excited! Hahaha and THEN! We went up into Kaingin to teach an investigator family and ohhhh man it got real awkward real fast. So we've taught the father, Markos, and one of his sons Mark multiple times. We've only taught one of his other sons, Jake, once! And then he has another son that I've never taught before, Jhay-Ehz. And man. We sat down and it just got awkward because Jhay-Ehz started asking me what my name was and how old I was and telling me he really loved my smile and my eyes and even though my leg was injured he really loved that too and then Jake said that "something happened to your face since last time." And I thought he was going to say that it had gotten fatter or something but he says, "You've become mas maganda." Flip. Everything was just getting weird and I said, "Okayyyy so magsimula tayo!" Which means, let's begin! And so we started teaching about the Book of Mormon and there really was a change after we started teaching. They all just got solemn and were really listening and committed to read and pray about the Book of Mormon. Jhay-Ehz offered the closing prayer, we shook hands with everyone, and I got out of there! Haha WE REALLY NEED ELDERS IN KAINGIN. It's just because I'm white and American but still....yikes. It was humorous though after! Hahahaha it's more fun in the Philippines!

Anyway, that's my week for ya! It's been a really great week! We had a lot of fun and we're seeing A LOT of success here! I'm so grateful to be a missionary! I love it! The joy you feel here can't be compared to anything else in the world! I had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I hope you all did too!! I can't believe that it's already December!! That's insane! But that means that I get to skype with you all in just 23 days!! Get ready! And don't expect me to be able to speak Tagalog because I still can't! Haha love you all so much!! Thanks for EVERYTHING!!!! LOVE YOUU!!!!!

Love, Sister Andersen
